Texture Is Better When the Mix-Ins Cool

Let the bacon and toasted almonds cool before folding them into the cream-cheese base. Warm bacon fat can loosen the dip, and hot almonds soften faster once covered.

Reserve some bacon, almonds, and scallions for the top so the finished dip has a fresher crunch after chilling.

How to Store Leftovers

Refrigerate promptly and keep chilled, covered, for up to 4 days. Do not leave the dip at room temperature longer than 2 hours.

Freezing is not recommended because sour cream and mayonnaise can separate.

How to Reheat

This dip is intended to be served cold; no reheating is needed. Let it stand 10 minutes for easier scooping.

How to Serve It

  • buttery crackers
  • carrot sticks
  • cucumber rounds
  • toasted baguette
